Sand & Sun

What else can you expect on the last leg of summer?
We've been making the most of our free time. School literally starts in our valley next Wednesday! We have mixed feelings. I think Ava is ready for 6 hours of mental stimulation though :)
Isaac has been ready for school since it got out in May! Haha
Bev and Bryan were processing and operating on rattlesnakes last weekend. Bev brought her daughter, Jessica , this trip to our delight! A friend, doing a school project, also tagged along. You may see pictures of Shea later on this blog post.
Gretchen invited us to swim near her house again. We were looking forward to it. It's such a great place with a great mix of shade, sand, and sun.......and of course great friends!

Even the dogs enjoy the water and company......

Matthew is a great little swimmer. I keep telling Ava to watch and learn :)

Isaac and Emma always find their own entertainment.......

When we left, we could see the Black Fire (which has been burning a couple of months) flared up again....

Later that evening, Bryan made our own fire in the grill, where we consumed a delicious dinner and topped it off with sm'ores that Jessica and Bev brought. We invited Matthew & Emma come too. Emma was tuckered out and ended up napping while Matthew joined the party......

Smmmmmmmmm 'ores!  It only took until the end of summer to have one!
Yummers :P
