Fire & Ice 2017

There was no doubt this January that the Fire & Ice Festival would have enough snow. We collected our gear and went to Cave Lake to have some winter fun. It was an overcast day. Cold, but we were inspired.

There was a smaller crowd this year. Maybe the weather and temps kept people away?

We rented ice skates in Ely.....  it took us a while to figure out how to use them again :)
But it was so. much. fun!

We walked around to see the ice sculptures. Although there weren't as many entries this year, it didn't disappoint. People put a lot of work into their creations.....

Luckily there was fire on the ice to warm us up when we needed it.......

We tried to keep moving to stay warm too, like doing activities such as ice bowling!

Then Isaac had the idea to use him to bowl..... haha!

All this activity wearing all these layers of clothes can be tiring..... even for Ava!

Maybe eating a block of snow (ok, and cookies) would provide a shot of energy.... to sled!

Winter Walk

Winter status: My posts may all be about snow this month  :D

Snow, and more snow. I love it when the temperatures aren't too cold but large flakes zig zag down from the sky. It's my favorite. Jess, Lily, Willow, and I went on a beautiful walk around town. Perfect conditions. Perfect day.

Willow and Lily had a lot of fun being pulled around, making faces and giggling at each other.....

Good times! Haha

After a while we got the girls out of the sled to get some exercise.....

Making tracks through deep snow is hard work for a one year old!
Someone is telling us she's ready for her nap :)
