Young Author's Fair

We attended the Young Author's Fair recently at Baker Hall. Garrison and Baker schools work hard writing and illustrating their books.

I quickly snapped a photo of Ava explaining her book. Can you tell she didn't like the spotlight?

Clara, future young author :)

Nanna Val took my little owlet for a while:

Ms. Phillips handing out a certificate to Roberta Moore for all her help.....

Stephanie Mietz also got acknowledged......

The kids were separated into study/project groups.....

People filled the room awaiting to see the books and autograph them......

Here is Ava's book "The Magestiques".....

How is the school year flying by so fast?! There's only a few more weeks left until it comes to an end.

It feels like yesterday that I posted about last April's Young Author Fair.

Not-So-Toothy Grin

The tooth fairy has been busy at the Hami house. Ava lost two teeth in the same week. So now she has three missing. She has lost a total of 5 baby teeth now. After she visits the dentist in early May, it will be 6. We documented this toothy journey......
Also, the tooth fairy was 2 days late with the last tooth. Bad tooth fairy; bad!
;)
Haha!

First the left big one fell out; then the right one loosened and hung sideways for days.....

It finally came out on Easter Day. I told her all the sugar made it come out.......
;)

Check out that toothless grin....
I didn't quite understand you Ava, what did you slur? Haha

Here is a fun little poem that describes the moment:

I'm having trouble thpeaking,

thinthe I lotht my middle tooth.
Jutht yethterday my tooth wath fine --
today it wiggled loothe.

At firtht I thought it thilly,
when my tooth fell out today,
But no one theems to underthtand
a thingle word I thay.

I athked my mom to clothe the door,
she thaid "That would be rude.
The door does not like wearing clothes;
it's happy in the nude."

I thaid a mouthe wath in my room
and she should come and thee.
She thaid "your mouth is on your face;
it's right where it should be."

I wonder if you underthtand
the thircumthtanthe I'm in.
I told her I wath feeling thick.
She thaid "you're looking thin."

At latht she thaw how mad I wath,
And thought I might thtop breathing.
She laughed and thaid she didn't mean it --
She wath only teething.

Easter Portraits

Here are the 2014 Easter pictures of the kids:

These were taken just hours before that sideways tooth of Ava's fell out......

The stuffed animal bunnies were all their idea. They ran into the house to get them. Haha
The wheels are always turning in those little brains......

Preschool/Easter

You never know what you'll see on the drive across Snake Valley. I was taking the kids to preschool and we were entertained by some pronghorn.

Golden Eagles are always a sight to see......

When we got to school, Willow got to visit her friend, Lincoln.

It was almost Easter, so the kids were busy doing crafts for their baskets......

Later, the kids lined up with their goodies. It was a perfect photo opportunity......

Look at those Easter smiles  :)

What a fine looking group of kids!

A few days later, Easter Sunday ~ Ava and Isaac got to put together their own eggs.....

Soon, it was time for an egg hunt!

Bryan bought a boat from our friend Jon. After lunch, he took Ava and Isaac out for a float.

Ava lost another tooth right before they departed..... Haha

Hope you all had a great Easter!
