Having an Ice, er...... Nice Day

We organized a group of friends to play on the ice at Stella Lake. Everyone was enthusiastic. The temperatures were still in the 50's at 10,000 ft. We were crossing our fingers hoping the ice would hold this wild bunch.

What a cool sight. Like an idea for a Thomas Kinkade painting  :)

The safest place was in the cove, and there was still plenty of room to spread out.

Ava was super thrilled to be back on the ice. This was the closest to winter so far. She could taste it! Haha

Willow and Isaac were sharpening up their skills too.

This view makes me smile  :)

Everyone just had a great time playing on the ice, soaking up the sun and enjoying the mid-November warm air. Just doing their own thing. We packed a lunch and had a little picnic.

What a great group of adventurous kids!

Gretchen took some shots of the kids and I  :)

A little slice of Heaven :)

Skates back on Stella!

Can you believe it's the third consecutive year we've been able to put skates on Stella?! We had been dreaming about the possibility, soon the opportunity was there for us to attempt it. Isaac and Willow had play dates with other kids. Ava went to Provo with Bryan. We would have to do this again so they could join next time. This group included myself, Meg, Gretchen, Matthew, and Emma. Small crowd, perfect to "check" the condition of the ice  :)

The Aspen branches were bare and what was left of the Autumn color was on display along the forest floor. The yellow leaves crunched under our boots.

Frozen Stella Lake, this looked promising!

What beautiful, beautiful November days! So grateful for these moments. We will be back next chance we get!
