2022 ~ It's a Wrap!

It's the first blank page of a 365 page book. 365 sun rises to introduce and light the path of each new day. 365 sunsets to breathe in, and a chance to pause and reflect on the day. May this year bring all the crazy colors, fun and happiness in your life. I pray the new year finds you and keeps you in good health. I hope that you find many small moments of joy throughout the day. It's those small moments that take up the most room in our hearts. May your spirit always be lifted by the little simple things in life. It's a new year to start fresh. Let's not trip on things that should be behind us. It's a challenging not to let those yesterday(s) leak into today. I hope you get regular doses of eco-therapy to get the cobwebs out of your head. Warmest wishes to the 365 days in your book! Peace and Love to you, Dear Author.

HamiFami "December" 2022

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Ok, not so much in town..... but at 8,000 feet where we took the sleds.....

The Great Christmas Tree Hunt (HamiFami style):
Ava drove us up Lexington Canyon where we got stuck in the snow (got ourselves out) and brought back a beautiful White Fir. Quite the adventure.

December 5th arrived fast and that evening we got another light blanket of snow on Isaac's birthday.

Bryan makes the best cakes, Mmmmmm....

Happy 13th Birthday Isaac!

An inversion settled in the valley floor for a couple of days. Pretty. But I started feeling like a device in need of charging..

Bryan has a Elk hunting permit and has been putting in the miles on the road, but especially on foot!

He captured this beautiful sunrise.....

EskDale High School had their Christmas Banquet. Ava and Isaac sang in the choir. Isaac played violin in the orchestra. Ava had a couple of roles in the play. They did such a great job! These kids enjoy the arts and we enjoy watching them shine! They did a wonderful job!

A few days later Garrison & Baker Schools had their Christmas program. Willow played three parts (Snowman, Elf, and Ballerina)  in her play titled "North Pole Musical." She really "Hamed" it up! She did a great job!

There was a short visit with Santa that night.......

We spent the first couple of days on Christmas break in Las Vegas where we immersed ourselves into this fantastic, interactive art realm put on by this production company called "Meow Wolf."
It was mesmerizing, interesting, and trippy.....and after 3.5 hours, overstimulating lol.
Well worth it though.

Christmas Eve we had to say our goodbyes to our old dog Zeek. He had spleen cancer and the tumors aggressively made him go downhill kind of fast. He was the best mountaineering dog there ever was. He will always have a special place in our hearts. He enriched our lives for almost 12 years. We sure miss him.

We are at home the rest of the holiday break, which is nice. We have a lot going on, but we are trying to do more resting too this week. The weather makes it easy to do so; baby it's cold outside! Although, Bryan continues to hunt and we are remodeling Ava and Willow's rooms so not as much downtime as we thought. We do plan on taking New Year's Day off to watch Avatar.
