New Orleans: Final Day

Louisiana Swamp Tour: We were really looking forward to this boat tour most of the week. The city was entertaining but it is refreshing to get out "into the sticks" again and see more natural scenery.

Isaac picked up the skill of gator wrestling pretty quick! ;)

The tour guide on the boat passed around some props for everyone to see and touch..............

We DID see alligators in their natural habitat. However, they were conditioned to come to the boat because of this.......................

Yep, that is a marshmallow! I'm sure they look forward to this tasty treat and salivate every time they hear or see a boat.

The tour guide was actually able to place this marshmallow on top of the alligators head..............

My favorite part of the trip was holding a baby alligator that they had on the boat........... I think it was memorable for ALL of us :)

Ava took to it really fast. It's funny how she won't hold a snake yet (even in our house!) but she won't hesitate to hold an alligator. How funny :P

So cute!

Isaac was mad and cried when I wouldn't let him hold the gator - only because I knew he'd squeeze the little thing and wouldn't let it go. lol

Ava will have great memories that include mules, beignets, alligators, the ferry on the Mississippi, and of course - grandma :)

New Orleans: Part Three

Audubon Insectarium:

I captured these photos of Ava and Isaac before they really got cranky from being tired. It wasn't long before we thought it was necessary to exit the museum and take them back to the hotel for a rest.

Grandma bought Ava and Isaac these cute (bug) certificates :)

Canal Street Ferry:

We took the ferry a couple of times on this trip. The view of the city from the Mississippi River was pretty neat :)

It looked especially pretty at night :)

I've tried to upload these photos and finish these posts now for four days and this blog site is really slow or just fails to work correctly. I will try to complete my final New Orleans post today (while it seems to work a little better!)
