School Events; April Events in General

The Baker school had their annual Science Fair. This is of course the third graders first time participating. All the kids did such a great job and put a lot of effort into their projects. Some kids had cool demonstrations outside the building.....

Aidan was announced the winner of 2016 with his air rocket. Congratulations! Very cool!

I took pictures of Ava's project:

Go, go, go Science!

Meanwhile, back at the Hami house ~ my friend gave Willow an adorable hat. Willow insists on retrieving the hat when she plays guitar. Haha. Too cute :)

This next photo I stole from Audrey.
My mom had had surgery to remove her gallbladder along with gallstones. Mom is a pillar of health so it was hard for all of us to see her in a hospital. This put a temporary halt on her day to day activities. She starts work at the park next week. She'll be back to her mighty self for that.

Audrey came out for a short visit.
We went up to Sacramento Pass to play......

April is usually the time the snakes show their noses through the cracks in the rocks.
Processing time has begun......

Ssssssssssspring is here!

I have been failing at documenting school functions this year. I'll try to be better at it this month (now that only one remains! EEeeek!)
The schools had their Young Author Fair. This is Isaac's first experience writing a book! He was pretty excited about showing it off.....

Ava's first time at Baker School; but fourth year as an author ;)

A famous visitor came to Garrison and Baker schools~ Smokey the Bear!
(I stole this first photo from Chandra, from Baker School).

Garrison School ~ kids were doing high fives and Smokey was warmly welcomed :)

I think I was just as excited :)

(Insert cuteness) Isaac was so excited about seeing Smokey that he picked out his special shirt to wear for the occasion.... Haha

"Spirit Week" is currently in session at the schools. Crazy hair day is our favorite one:

We had a nice trend of warm weather. We even went swimming in April, as Gretchen documented on her blog! Spring weather in the Great Basin will give you whiplash. We experience all kinds of crazy weather. Last week it was warm, but then we had awful, damaging winds. This week it's cold with hail and snow in the mountains and rain in the valleys (which is what I prefer).
It's been raining for two days now. You know what that means; muddy puddles!
