Warm Springs

After we got back from our vacation, we got to spend a couple of days with Ben and Deb before they had to fly back to Ohio. Time seemed to fly by of course and I failed to get photos except for when we went to Warm Springs. Next time I need to get a family photo.

I was watching Charlie that day, so the kids had a lot of fun!

It's a ...............

I haven't had a check-up since I was 9 weeks along. I'm now 19 weeks. Halfway through! It's been a crazy/busy summer! I wanted to schedule my next appointment around this week since there would be a better chance for a gender reveal :)
So Monday we found out that it's a 90 % chance it's a girl! Ava was thrilled. Isaac got over it after a couple of hours ;)

Everything looks good and so far we are on track.
We are excited!
Ava and Isaac are fascinated by my growing belly and ask a lot of questions. Mostly they love the fact that my belly button looks silly since it's an outie now. lol
I may post pics of myself at 20 weeks; gotta document these things since this will be the last time I'll be pregnant........

Imperial Sand Dunes (Glamis)

On our way back home, we stopped at a huge sand dunes near El Centro, CA. The time of day was perfect! The lighting and temperatures were ideal. I felt like a little kid unleashed in the largest sandbox in the world! Haha
We had so much fun; it was hard to get back in the vehicle knowing we still had a long trip ahead of us.........

What was interesting and noticeable was that on one side of the highway (the left), the dunes were protected. The other side has been used by off-road vehicles........

On the protected side of the dunes were many bushes and other vegetation. Bryan found these lizards out there that would dive in and out of the sand. Just like they were diving into water! lol
It was highly entertaining to watch, and just as much fun to dig them out carefully........

You could almost follow the tracks until they ended; then dig.........

These are photos of a couple of critters we found on the way home.............. a very large toad somewhere near Searchlight, NV.

We were pretty excited to see a Kingsnake in Rainbow Canyon near Caliente!

Ensenada / La Bufadora

In transit to Ensenada, we went across deserts, mountain passes, and miles of farms as far as the eye could see. There were also many small towns in between........

On that particular day, we went through fog heavy and wet enough we consistantly used our wipers. It was beautiful to see the desert color pop out even more. The vegetation was drinking in the moisture from the air. Monsoon-type weather is always great relief in any desert, especially hot deserts.......

One of the farm towns we went through had the most beautiful trees I've ever seen!

Ensenada is where we completed our tourist shopping. Who could resist when you walk down the street of the famous "La Bufadora." Plus, it was literally the tail-end of the trip where we could use up the rest of our pesos. I remember coming here in high school with my friends family. Brought back some memories.

La Bufadora is a marine geyser, or blowhole, located on the Punta Banda Peninsula. The spout of sea water is the result of air, trapped in a sea cave, exploding upwards. It makes a great crashing noise on the rocks when the pressure is high.......

Our hotel was in the heart of Ensenada. The Baja 500 (off-road racing) was also happening that weekend. So, the place was packed with crowds and quite frankly we were lucky to get a room with a secure parking lot. We walked around the streets and explored.......

The next day, it was a short drive back on American soil.........

Ahhhhh Mexico, thanks for the many wonderful memories. Until we return again................
