St. Patrick's Day

Occasionally I run out of the house to capture some amazing sunsets. I could see the glow of this one from my kitchen window. Breathtaking. I'm reminded to stop and take a breather as life races by.

The kids were excited for St. Patrick's Day. Ava wanted me to color her hair green with chalk. I did my best at 6:30 in the morning without a shot of coffee. This time change has been harder on me than the kids. Haha.

Live.Breathe.Ski.

Gretchen and I took a gaggle of kids skiing at Eagle Point. This would be my kids and I's last run down the slopes this year. The season is a wrap. Bryan stayed home to work and watch Willow. The sun was shining. Around lunch time we ended up shedding layers of clothes because it warmed up. It was time to work on our skills!

 We skied all day. Poor Isaac had a couple of meltdowns on the last run down. He was so tired his legs stopped working. I felt his pain. I've been through that before. I can't believe the kids lasted as long as they did, but it was such a great time. They powered through. They were worn out!

Mindfulness in Madness of March

March is a great month to fly kites. I have a slight obsession with them; I just bought three new ones. Usually I can count on this time of year with many breezy days to help assist with this hobby. I have a lot of fun taking pictures of my kids with kites too. It's one of those activities that is relaxing and you can't help but be mindful and present in the moment. I don't have a fishbowl to watch swimming fish so sometimes I like to watch a floating kite.. haha.
This Yoda kite is on its last string, it's close to expiring. I wanted to give it some more air time before we got out the new ones. Maybe we will go to Pruess Lake next time.

The following day we had a blasting blizzard. Hail, snow, and crazy wind. March came in like a lion this year with a fierce attitude.....

Two days later, it was 48 degrees. Today, it's 70!  Must be March Madness.

Science Fair 2017

The Science Fair was last week. Baker School kids did a great job on their experiments.
Charlie and Ernesto took home first place for 4th grade. Their potato/electricity project was really cool! It was great to see the kids enthusiasm.

Ava and Ernesto did "Frankenstein's hand" where you mix baking soda and vinegar to blow up a latex glove. It's one of her favorite experiments....

Isaac, (here in his super stylish suspenders) had an an appointment with doctor Morales the following day in Salt Lake City. It was a busy week.

Dr. Morales is almost retired. He only works a few times per month now. We are lucky to be on his schedule because his time is precious, as he is one of the best surgeons in the world! We have a long history. I appreciate this man!
So, Isaac is going to have his big surgery soon. It's up to us to schedule it. He's going to have to "take is easy" for weeks. This means doing it before summer activities!

While we were in SLC we stopped at Scheels to shop and play :)
We ran into a long, lost relative. Haha. Seriously, Abe Lincoln's mother was a Hanks.

The store is noticeable tall, because there is a ferris wheel inside! How fun and cheap to ride too! You can get a great look at the whole store from up high....

Our friend, Roberta, created an "Art Club." She and the kids are going to be creating a masterpiece to sell at the local Farmer's Market. Can't wait to see the product :)

Trying to keep up with one foot in front of the other in this busy life. Never a dull moment. Apparently we need to schedule one ;)
