Here is 2017 and 2018 from this blog. I revisited many places, but also targeted new places.
Nature has a way to call to something deep inside all of us. Highlights of this year was spending more time chasing the Milky Way in various locations around Snake Valley. Standing at snowy Stella Lake in July in what I call a "midnight sonata" was the most stellar, outstanding times in my life. It felt as if I was transported into the galaxy. I looked up in awe at the cosmic magic laid out across the sky. It will be forever etched into my memory. I will forever know how small I am in the universe. When it's night time in Snake Valley, simply look up and it will take your breath away.
Another highlight was Bryan and I celebrating a 20 year Anniversary hike to Eagle Peak where we watched a harvest full moon rise over an ancient grove of pines. It was our first backpack trip together. Speaking of Bristlecone Pines, we hiked through all of the locations of groves in Great Basin National Park in one summer. A visit with trees that are thousands of years old makes you feel young ;)
We slept under a limestone arch watching the the sunset, milky way, shooting stars, moon-rise, and finally the sunrise all in 11 hours. That was incredible.
My kids put in challenging high elevation trail miles. It's a great feeling of accomplishment when you summit a couple of peaks. Legs on fire and fresh mountain air surging through your lungs.
This year we had a tale of two seasons when snow was layered with Autumn leaves.
We were delighted to get our ice skates on Stella Lake for the 3rd consecutive year in a row before winter officially arrived.
A Fall with a palette of color. Winter with measurable snow. Spring with super blooms. Summer with stars! The days flew off the calendar. Especially summer months when we could push play:

Here is my collection of my happy places in 2019 (in chronological order)......
Looking forward to more adventures ahead in 2020! Happy New Year!
