Weekend Trip: Transit to Vegas

Friday, we loaded our gear for a weekend trip to Las Vegas. Bryan was a presenter again (like last year) at the Southern Nevada Herpetological Society. We were looking forward to going somewhere warm ~ from the Great Basin Desert to the Mojave Desert!

It's always pleasant to break up long drives for nature hikes. This was just outside of Caliente. 

I love Joshua trees. I've never seen them in bloom before though! That made it extra pretty.

Later, somewhere near Alamo at a place called "Hell's Half Acre" we explored the more rocky part of the desert. Isaac and Ava loved all the boulder climbing. Did I mention the warm weather? Thank goodness this time of year in early Spring, it doesn't feel like Hell.

We needed to get to the hotel and clean up before Bryan's presentation......
