There was a crisp chill early in the morning as we drove up the mountain.....
Our destination was the Boy Scout Camp at the top. The aspen trees were in full Fall foliage. Beautiful.
Happy National Public Lands Day! Giving a shout out! I am grateful to have access to roam freely in our "gems"of diverse places. Thankfully the state of Nevada is over 80% public lands which allows us to explore more without seeing too many "No Trespassing" signs. These places our considered our greatest universities without walls. Places of solitude and ecotherapy. They are areas of reflection and sanctuaries. We all retreat to our happy places, where we stay curious and be inspired!
There were many information, education stations including members of Great Basin National Park. Bryan brought his snakes which is always a grand attraction. Kelsy and Joey had a great spread all about bats, while Ed had his table filled with noxious weeds info (working along with the Eastern Nevada Landscape Coalition). Of course the forest service made a big presence, especially with the iconic Smokey the Bear ;)
That evening we used a gift card to stay in a motel in Ely. We swam, ate, and went bowling.
A great night out on the town!
Bryan and I had our White Russians and channeled The Big Libowski ....... Haha!
The clouds were going to be building more this week with high potential of moisture. It's happily welcomed. More clouds also build better sunsets :)
