We did a quick pause at Mather Overlook.....
Transition from Fall to Winter before our eyes. Fresh snow melting from Autumn leaves that still remain clung to limbs....
So, my happy sidekick and I found ourselves in a winter wonderland. The temperatures were in the high 40's and the drops fell from the conifers as we trekked underneath their snow-filled branches. Forest kisses! We weren't the only ones making tracks through snow.....
Being in the energy of the Bristlecone Pines is always magical. Strong, flexible, and deeply rooted. This was extra special. Willow enjoyed her first taste of winter!

There was a mix of sun and clouds. It looked like a spooky October scene at times as the clouds permeated through the trees and peaks.....
We continued up to treeline to get a quick glimpse of the Glacier.....
After taking in the view we headed back down......

We had enough time to swing up to one of the alpine lakes; Teresa Lake. It was almost shocking to see it so low. Maybe we will have a heavier snow year.... who knows.
This last picture shows the difference from the start of the hike and the end.....
I carried Willow for over 5 miles in less than 3 hours. I've been packing kids for 11 years lol.
That's my kind of workout. A whirlwind, spontaneous adventure.
