Playtime After School

I love play dates after school. Even if it's of a couple of hours. The kids get so exited, even after they've seen each other across the classroom all day! lol It's even better when it is warm enough outside to play. The trampoline is getting some good use after a stagnant, bitter winter.......

Matthew, Burklie, and Ava play "crack the egg" (that brings back childhood memories of 5 of us kids playing that same game).......

Meanwhile, the three year olds, Emma and Isaac, made goodies out of mud. This included cookies and ice cream. Afterward, they said they were "planting trees." lol

Let me just note that kids have perfect posture and ergonomics until they hit the age of 5. Look how Isaac bends at the knees in a squat and keeps his back straight in the photo above. I say age 5 because that's when kids began slouching and sitting too long in desks. This is why exercise is so important after school (and yoga at the end of the day if you can fit it in). It's never to early to think about and practice good posture to maintain a strong, healthy spine. It will literally effect the way you do things the rest of your life. I've been making changes myself and trying to break my bad posture habits. It has been a challenge!
Ok, there is my bodywork educational "plug" for the day........ Haha.

The month of February is usually the slowest time of the year for us. But, not this time! I've made a couple weekends to Las Vegas. One for an eventful girl's weekend. I don't know if I want to reveal the photos for that trip. Maybe if I get enough comments of people wanting to see them, I will (with permission from the rest of my party) Haha  ;)
The other with Bryan and friends to a Jackson Brown concert. Audrey watched Ava and Isaac, so it was a great date weekend :)
*Special thanks to my mom and Audrey!* XO

There are many trips to town in general this month......it'll be nice to chill out before the madness of March arrives. Bryan has scheduled his oral exams; for March. You will hear a great sigh of relieve across the Great Basin when that's done :) I am beginning to plug away on my CEUs for my TMT license renewal in May. That always comes up so sudden every year!

I realized this month has the fewest blog posts from me than any other month..... lol
It's been a whirlwind. From what I've seen and read ~ looks like it's been a busy, productive month for most of my friends and family! Enjoy the ride, but don't forget to take 15 minutes everyday in a quiet corner and just......... breathe :)

Happy Birthday Audrey!

It was my sister's birthday on Monday. We had a small dinner/dessert party over at our house to help her celebrate another year of growing older........

Audrey had Ava help her blow out the candles.......

I just noticed the presence of obese buddha and a turtle in the photo that Ava was playing with. That buddha is a representation of how I feel after engorging myself with delicious birthday treats. Haha
Tonight was a great excuse to get out my festive color drip candles.......

"Happy Birthday Audrey~elous!"
You'll always be my beautiful baby sis and I'm so looking forward to catching up on the abundant spanks I owe you.
;)
:D

A birthday is just the first day of another 365-day journey around the sun. Enjoy the trip!

Saturday Drive

The weather has been gloomy the last few days. It snowed, but not as much as was predicted in the forecast. I assume Ely had a heavier blanket of winter thrown on them. My sister Audrey and I (along with Isaac) decided to go on a little Saturday drive. Bryan and Ava stayed home to cuddle in front of a movie. Lately, we have been seeing some wild horses not too far from Garrison. The last time we spotted them, I didn't have my camera and missed out on some incredible close shots. That's been happening a lot to me lately. The days I take my camera, I don't see much. On the days I didn't, I could have gotten awesome pictures of raptures, a coyote (that literally paraded in front of me), and other misc subjects.

So, we loaded ourselves up in the car and drove a couple of dozen miles. We hoped the horses would be as close to the road as last time.

So, we spotted the wild horses in their usual area ~ but they were quite far. Looked like a couple of mares with babies. I love the colors of these horses! They looked especially pretty with the fresh dusting of powder on the mountains.

It was cool to see them. Maybe we'll get lucky sometime and I'll get some closer shots of them. We made our way back home. But not before passing all the canada geese in Pruess Lake......

Until next time...........

Bryan's Before and Afro

Bryan's look changes like the seasons..... and he enjoys keeping us on our toes with his many transformations. I think that he has tried everything with his hair. I really should post photos of his many styles sometime.
lol
So, this time he had Chandra magnify his long, curly hair with a permed fro!
My cousin Chandra is a great hairdresser and has completed all his transformations over the last few years: cuts, dyes, mohawks, spikes, cornrows; etc........
Usually, I have a massage appointment when he gets his hair done at EskDale (in Chandra's little hair studio). So, I'm typically "surprised" when he walks through the door. I think Chandra has many before and after shots of Bryan. This time I was able go over and watch (as well as document) an afro circus! Haha

Before shot:

If you've ever had a perm, you always remember the fumes that go along with it! Powerfully yucky!

Afro, I mean after, shot:

That adorable, contagious smile makes up for anything he does to his skull........ ;)
