2010 Wheel-a-thon

Today was the annual Baker/Garrison School Wheel -a-thon. The Garrison School (smaller kids) rode 8 miles on their bikes. The Baker School (older kids) rode 16 miles. The preschool kids rode what they could. They all did sooooo great. We were proud of them!






At each mile stop there was someone serving refreshing snacks & water............

We took the occassional ride on the bus - but by the end of the wheel-a-thon, Ava rode just under 5 miles!

You couldn't have asked for better September weather. It'll be great to do it again next year!

Changes

Here is our porch that we've been meaning to tile all year long. Adam and I chose a day to go ahead and get it done a couple of weekends ago. Gretchen took Ava up to the Home Farm Art Space Trailer where the kids were going to play (Thank you Gretchen!). Isaac is a little easier to keep track of since he can't walk and get into things. It was so great to have Adam's help laying the tile (Thank you Adam!).

There were a lot of loud noises between the tools and music - Adam put some safety earmuffs on Isaac. LOL

I think he enjoyed the muffled sounds...... Ha ha!

Then we layed the tile..............

A couple of days later, I grouted, sealed, and touch-painted the tile and porch...... Here is the finished product.................



It's so nice to have that project scratched off my list..........

Now, I want to introduce you to another change at our house.............

Our new kitty that we got from a friend.

Ava named her "Alaska."

Diego is warming up to her a little now (I think later he'll enjoy the playmate)........and hopefully Alaska will be a better mouser. Diego is an old cat and set in his ways......

We chose this kitty because she's tolerant of Ava's (tough) love and has a great personality. She's been a joy to have around.

Preschool Year 2

I meant to post this last week -
Fall is in the air - and the munchkins are back in preschool for yet another year! They look so much older from last year - and play better with each other. The fights are much more bruttal too (Just Kiddin'). LOL


Quick Rant:
This photo of Isaac (note that he is happy) was taken obviously before his (upper teeth) teething pain started. I miss this happy boy. For the last week it's been very challenging to function during the day (11:00 - 4:00) from the lack of sleep of Isaac's wailing. Poor kid. I feel so helpless. Bryan got some teething tablets in town the other day (thank you for the recommendation Sarah!) and they seem to help. He's still in pain - but it's not near as bad. I feel like I have a lot of sleep to catch up on (knowing that I can't actually catch up on sleep). I just tell myself that I can and somehow I believe it. It's funny I'm blogging right now (10:47 p.m.) when I should be in bed "catching up." Ha ha.

They are ready to tackle on another exciting and educational year with Teacher Gwendy!

9 Months Old

He's an All Star on this blog today.............Isaac is 9 months old (tommorrow)!

C.R.A.Z.Y.

He's still trying to figure out how to crawl. He knows how to get into position - but doesn't know the next step. I think he's going to walk before he crawls. Ha ha.

He wants to do everything that Ava does - and gets mad when he can't.

He has discovered how to clap - and gets VERY excited when he's doing it. It's so adorable to watch. I'll sing the "If your happy and you know it" song - and he performs it. Ha ha!!

He still gives me spontaneous kisses and hugs when I hold him :)

In other news:

Bryan started class at BYU. He's only got the one class this semester - so he drives in on Thursdays for the day. Next semester he'll have two. Pretty soon in the near future we'll be calling him Dr. Bryan Hamilton :)

Ava started Preschool in EskDale (she loves it)! It's amazing to compare this years growth/development with last years. All the kids seem so much more grown up. Awwwwww. I'll post pictures soon.

We are FINALLY eating our yummy tomatoes and peppers.....now that it's pretty much Fall. lol

Next year - I'll be more prepared :)

Starting September 16th - I'm going to be doing Therapeutic Massage in Dr. Jesse Valadez's new Chiropractic Office in Ely! I'm going to start out one day a week. There will also be another Massage Therapist working there - Dr. Valadez will refer his patients to us :)

Grandpa & Grandma Hamilton and Great Grandma Billings are coming to stay with us in early October. Yeaaahhh! Can't wait to see you all!!

Growing like Weeds

Isaac is getting a mouthful of teeth at the same time (4 to be exact). He's not to thrilled with it. I'm kinda glad he's getting them all at once - but then we have to deal with the fact that he's cranky most of the time now. lol

These pictures were taken last week - so he's teeth look quite a bit bigger now..........








Somedays when I see my kids after they wake up from a night's sleep - they look bigger. Like they grew overnight. It sounds strange but they do.

Ava just turned the big 3 on August 21st. We had a few friends and family over for cake & ice cream. Nothing too elaborate - but she kept talking about party hats, cake, and her friends so we thought we better throw her a belated birthday party to remember.

I didn't take near the pictures I should have - but I was too busy with other things..........
