Hats off to Bats

Bryan's schedule is still in full swing. The crew has been working hard another year studying various species of bats. The kids and I enjoy seeing the action once or twice. They always seem to have plenty of help processing here......

The setting sun warmed our skin as we sat in front of bat hibernacula......

The bats seemed to disperse earlier from the cave...... the work begins!

More and more of the flying mammals come out for their night time engorging......

Simply a magical, special moment.......

If you like pest control, tequila, and crops for food then you should thank a bat!

My favorite experience so far was last year on a stormy evening. The bats danced around in a symphony under dramatic clouds. Bats are important and we need them. Check out "Ode to Bats."
