Another Triop Season

Water poured from the sky in the month of May and brought stagnant, temporary pools to the desert floor for a couple of weeks. Where there is water, there is life. We were looking for something special swimming around. We found them right away:

Some call them "Living Fossils." Extra rain on the desert playa encourages a Triop revival! The last one I documented was in 2015, when I did a longer, detailed blog post HERE.

 There's only a short window to see these little critters. Looking at them causes you to ask a lot of questions. I like that. Curious things....

Intriguing then, as they are now, and will be next time we see them!
