Lexington Canyon Drive

Christmas break was in full swing. We decided to take a drive up Lexington Canyon. There was still lots of scars from the wildfire from years ago. There was a warm glow on the late December landscape....

We came to one of the historical cabins where we got out and stretched our legs. The outhouse was still standing....

Haha! There's always time to be silly :)

We drove up further on the gnarly road and entered the Park Service boundary. The sun was already setting behind the mountain. It gets dark so early this time of year. But, with it so warm it hasn't been as depressing as it could feel.

Here is an example of "winter" in the mountains so far this year. Very unusual.

On the drive back down we had the idea of returning here for a hike. Why not? Might as well continue to take advantage of the 50 degree temperatures!
