One Week Old!

Here are some photos I took of Willow in the first week we were home. Babies change in their looks and actions so quickly and if you don't capture it, you miss it. She's actually officially a week old today!

Her eyes are rarely open; she sleeps all the time. Which means she's growing, growing, and growing.
When she wants her pacifier, she holds her little hand over it so it won't fall out. I've never seen anything like it.

Emma loves babies. She was thrilled to hold Willow.....

She gets the hick ups almost every day just like she did in my belly.......

So far she's been a mellow baby. She cries for the basic needs; to eat and be changed. Sometimes when people hold her in a way that she's not used to (and she just wants me), she'll cry then too. But, no colic (yet?).... I know this can change; but will it? Time will tell if there is a 5:00 whine time. lol
So far, she's a content little girl. I told my mom, maybe it was all that massage music :)

If I kiss her neck sometimes she'll crack a smile; which is how I got this shot here .......

We think we'll keep her  ;)  

The "O" Candle

Welcome home Willow! 

We were all excited to celebrate with pumpkin pie topped with the "0" candle (all Isaac's idea)....

Isaac and Ava ask to hold Willow regularly; and they give her kisses.
I'm trying to take photos to capture the lightning-speed growth changes.

Besides the lack of sleep, we are settling in nicely :)  
I figure we will be catching up on sleep the next 18 years anyway  ;)

First Visitors

My mom and Audrey brought our kids to Delta to meet their new baby sister. Brandi stopped by too on her way back from Salt Lake City. I think with most newborns, the first thing you notice is how small he or she is; like a living doll. I think that's funny too because all three times I gave birth, my reaction was how does a child that size fit in a belly?!  lol
But, again, you realize how tiny babies are when you start examining their toes, fingers, ears, nose, and nails....so precious.
It was nice to have everyone there. My body was tired, but I was still somewhat running on adrenalin and the excitement hadn't worn off yet. I was eager to see how the kids would react. Ava didn't exactly warm up to Willow on their first meeting. She was more curious about the hospital room. Isaac, was pretty hands on and asked a lot of questions. His face in the photo below pretty much expresses how he felt.... Haha

Willow will soon learn to know her "crazy aunt Audrey"  :)

We sort of got some rest on Thursday. Friday it was time to head home!
Willow got buckled in the car seat for the first time......

She slept the whole way home....
