Small Town Circus

On one of our trips to Cedar City, we picked up some coupons for a kid's circus that was being held in the town of Minersville, Utah. When we looked at the coupon we noticed they were going to have a special guest: Spongebob Squarepants. That was our draw to try to make the trip back in to see the circus.

Isaac saw an old episode of Spongebob weeks ago and got hooked immediately. I've never seen him laugh so hard at any show. We sat there in my living room laughing at Isaac who was laughing at this Spongebob episode. I never expected, or admittedly wanted, my kids to watch this silly show. But, I have to admit the old episodes have given me some belly laughs. Both Isaac and Ava like Spongebob. lol

Anyway, with Spongebob in mind, we made the 90 + mile drive to the Minersville Fairgrounds see the show on Saturday night. Nomi and Charlie were happy to come along too.

We got settled in our seats and the show began shortly after.....

 This is one of my favorite performers, she was unbelievable!

The trapeze artist was my least favorite and she seemed to "hang around" for way too long........ lol

Things got better again with this balancing act stunt:

They saved the best for last, in my opinion...........

Then, for the event we waited for......... appearance of the absorbant, yellow, and porous sponge!

Even though the circus was a little cheesy, I guess what you'd expect from a small town ~ Isaac's facial expression with spongebob totally made it worth it! Haha

Old Man's Cave

My friends obtained a caving permit and invited us on a spelunking adventure. I have been in many of the caves in the area, but this one (Old Man's Cave) was a new experience for me. I was excited to tread lightly through another underground cavity. I was in great company with Clint, Gretchen, Evan, Matthew, and Ava.

As you can see by the map, it's pretty extensive......

At the gated entryway, the lock was quite tricky.......

As you can see, we stirred up some dust in a couple of rooms..........

Parts of the cave were decorated with stalactites, stalagmites, popcorn, soda straws, and drapery.
There were also many more colors than I expected........

The cave proved to be an obstacle course, especially for the kids. We went up and down ladders, squished our bodies through tight passageways, slide down flowstone like a slide on our bottoms.....

I was glad to be in there with Gretchen, she's the professional at this......and I think she feels at home in a cave. lol

These are the days that really make me long for summer to arrive..... 

Simply wonderful.

Old Man's Cave was an ideal spelunking adventure. Even though we got a good workout, I didn't feel like an old man the next day! Haha
