Being two is a big chapter in one's life. Many personalities, expressions, joys, tantrums, and laughs......
When Willow first turned 2 in November she started to push her independence. She insisted on doing everything herself. She couldn't dress herself even though she'd like to. But, she could put on her boots just fine. She loves to help out with things around the house like setting the table for dinner. To our delight, she gave up her pacifier! That was wonderful ~ no more looking for them or making sure they aren't forgotten when we walk out the door. So long "powers!" (that is what she called it).
She's got plenty of
power left without that thing in her mouth :)
She tested us by throwing many tantrums. But, now we can talk things out and solve problems most of the time. Communication is key. The main time she refuses a discussion is when she is exhausted.
Her favorite things are her dolls, play doh, books, trains, and legos.
Her favorite activities are going for walks, riding bikes, music with dad, and playing with friends. She LOVES her friend and neighbor Lily. In fact, there is an obsession there.... haha

Willow went through a phase where she would plug her nose and say,
"Pee You!" when she would fill her pants.
Of course her dolls would sit on the potty more than her...... lol
Sometimes she would say that her baby had stinky butt. We knew that was a clue that Willow had just done it herself.... lol
We figured that if she was trying to be independent then she would be ready to go on the potty like a big girl. We've been working on it the last couple of months.
We are trying not to pressure her, but "plant seeds" throughout the day to encourage her.
We were crossing our fingers; but not holding our breath. We are getting closer though ;)
When Willow turned two she started having a lazy-eye. We took her to the doctor and at the time he didn't seem to concerned but said to bring her back in May. We call it "googly-eyes" and she does it on purpose too. Mostly she'll start doing it when she gets really tired. Many kids have a lazy eye like this, but if it keeps up she'll probably end up wearing glasses. We would track her eyes with our finger and she learned how to do it herself... haha

Willow's hair has been a little interesting. It's shorter in middle (where the car seat rubs against it) and long at the bottom. Ok, it looked like a Billy-Ray Cyrus mullet. Haha!
It was long enough to pull it in a pony tail, but when she wore it down it was interesting.
She got her first hair-cut last week in Chandra's hair room. Awe, it was so cute to see her sitting in the chair like a big girl. She did really well despite being tired. Chandra did a great job creating a bob in the back to help the rest of her hair blend into it. So cute! Great spring/summer cut!
Willow has started to pick up the guitar and play. She even uses the pick. Her and Bryan have a jam session. It's really cute. I cherish those moments :)
My two year old teaches me to not take life too serious. She shows me that love is more than a word; that it should be expressed through the day. She doesn't care how she looks. She doesn't care how she acts. She's constantly curious and inquisitive. She reminds to to laugh regularly. Sing. Dance. She makes me realize that everyone needs to throw a tantrum once in the while. We all need an outlet. She has a thirst to learn and absorbs it like a sponge. She's already an naturalist, artist, musician, architect, and teacher. All she wants is attention, love, play, and enjoy life. Isn't that what we all want?
We don't give kids enough credit. They are way smarter than we think!
I realize after having my terrific trio ~ that life is way too short.
