Cinco De Mayo

We met up with friends in Ely for the first annual Kentucky Derby party. Before we watched the horse "I'll have another" ride into victory ~ we stirred up some dust on the four wheelers. I always have so much fun on those things. Afterward, we enjoyed a feast of fingerfoods and ate until our bellies burst......
Thanks Tod & Amy for hosting the party!

That evening we had the largest moon display of the year. On our drive back home, we took some photos. I wish we had a subject in the photo besides the moon that would show the scale. You'll just have to believe that it was a LARGE moon!
lol :D

These ones on the west side of Wheeler Peak came out pretty cool.........

Hope you all had a memorable cinco de mayo!

Matthew Baker's Birthday Bash

Ava's friend Matthew turned 5 on May 1st. His is the first in many lined up for the next 4 months. The summer is full of birthdays. Gretchen made a cool cake with a "train" theme, of course. The Baker family and all Matthew's friends helped him celebrate.

Birthday Boy!

Following tasty treats, Craig hung up a pinata. This, of course, is always a blast for the kids. Who wouldn't love taking a bat and beating the candy out of something........ lol

This is how Isaac enjoyed the pinata ;)

The festivites ended with lessons on the t-ball :)
This gave us ideas that we should continue to have t-ball parties this summer!

These two are always a hoot :D

Happy Birthday Matthew Logan Baker!
Another year through!............

Baker School Presentation

Last week, Bryan gave a reptile presentation to the Baker School class. I didn't take any of these photos; although it would have been fun to go observe. I encouraged Bryan to take the camera and have someone take some photos for me :)
So, I don't know who the photographer was - but he or she did a great job! Maybe teacher Heather Yacapraro? Whoever it was ~ thank you!

Bryan starts out his presentation with power point, then moves on to the hands-on part of the program.......introducing the gopher snake, and kingsnakes :)

Bryan shows the kids how to process (weigh & measure) the snakes..........

Snakes are our friends :)

Most of the time, live animals tend to be a hit with the kids & do a good job capturing their attention :)

Got Snake?

Even teacher Heather Yacapraro handled a kingsnake!
So cool :)

It's hard to believe we are nearing the end of another school year...........

Happy May 1st everybody!
:D
