Simply Looking Up

I have been making more of an effort practicing night sky photography this summer. I value my sleep, so doing this is discipline for me haha. The shows have not disappointed, especially since we had a summer clear of smokey skies. Fire season was a little more tame perhaps?
I find myself checking to see the appropriate conditions to chase the Milky Way.
I'm grateful that I live in a place where it gets dark enough to see a canvas this breathtaking.

Since most of these pictures were taken in Great Basin National Park, perhaps I'll throw out their slogan: "Half the park is after dark."

My shining stars  * * *

"We are stars, wrapped up in skin.
The light you have been seeking has always been within."

The simply joy of looking up :)
