Our first Labor Day weekend hike was to Lincoln Peak. The last time we did this hike was in 2015 (posted
here). We made it to the meadow under the peak, but didn't summit. I have fond memories but also realized that hike kicked our ass then just as it would now! Haha. The kids are older and stronger. Perhaps us adults are older and slower. But, as long as we took our time we were determined to get to the top.
Plenty of tracks and scat from bighorn..... Willow's face as she held evidence in the palm of her hand lol
The trail (if you call it one) is super steep with ankle-rolling topography. We took breathers and admired the views of the peaks.....
Lincoln Peak view..... getting closer!
We enjoyed our lunch break at the meadow that sits under the peak....
The final climb, always the most challenging part.....
"Look we made it!" selfies :)
Lincoln Peak summit.....
We picked up a rock to get to the registry and look what we found. Crazy number of ladybugs.
I have to brag about Willow for a moment. This girl made this incredibly hard journey all by herself. She is a strong girl!
My terrific trio and another peek from a peak.....
We headed back, our lungs and legs alive!
