Matthew Baker's Birthday

Gretchen organized a birthday party for Matthew in Delta, Utah at the beginning of May. The day was filled with fun activities of course. It was a beautiful day, lucky for us because it got cold and windy again the following week; we've been getting whiplash with all the change in the weather.
First we enjoyed pizza in the park......

The little rock-climbers: Matthew, Ava, Jack, Evan, Charlie, Isaac, and Emma

The Birthday Boy ~ age 7 !

After that, we visited the new Great Basin Museum:

They had a really neat train set up in the front of the room........

It wasn't hard to see where Ava would head to first!

Emma found her favorite spot at the dress-up trunk while Isaac wandered over to the old fashioned counter and wished he was the one operating that cash register..... Haha

I think the dark room with the glowing minerals was a crowd favorite as well.......

The last activity was the public pool! The kids were super excited.

This would be Willow's 4 or 5th time swimming. We've had some practice at hotel pools ;)
She loves the water of course. I've never seen a baby that didn't to be honest. After all, they spent their early months of life swimming around ;)
What a great way to spend the day!

This month has been crazy. We've been back and forth to SLC for the kid's dental visits. That's a wrap now until the next check-up, which isn't for 6 months. I wanted to get that out of the way before summer arrived. This upcoming week is the last week of school! I can't believe it; especially because before I know it ~  I'll be posting about school starting back up! Ha! We are going to make the most out of our precious time (off); starting Memorial Weekend :)
I have much yard work that needs attention. I've pruned all the trees around my yard and made sure the drip system heads were in good working order. I need to install another drip system around the trees where the kids play area is. I still have some planting and wood staining to do too.
I've almost got my garden in order. I have volunteer tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, squash.....?........ (ok, they are really hard to identify) poppin' up from from our compost. Those are the ones that do the best in the long run. I even have a couple of peach trees grow from pits from the compost. Although I find gardening therapeutic. I mostly enjoy reaping the benefits later in the summer. I'm having a harder time getting things going this time around..... go figure! Haha. But, even though it's a little later than other spring seasons.... I will get 'er done! The flowers I planted this year are a Great Basin mix which will be less maintenance. I'm excited to see what grows. The wheels are turning in my head for plans for my yard. I have to say though, it's shaping up.
I view it from my hammock when I can ;)
Slowly, I will cross things off my to do list, even if it takes me all summer and fall; or longer ~ because the wheels are always turning in my head. Pinterest does not help. Ha!

6 Months Old

Today is the half a year milestone! Crazy!
Willow is still absorbing the world with big blue, watchful eyes. She's in the stage of trying to grab everything. I can't hold her at the dinner table anymore without watching to see what those busy hands are going to grab (or pull off the table). When she sits in the bumbo chair she arches her backbone way back and tries to get out. She's wanting to walk before she crawls, I think. She enjoys standing while you hold her. It's amazing how long she'll stand without buckling in... haha. She's getting better at flipping over from stomach to back. She's figuring it out.
She's a chatterbox at times; letting us know where we left her. Or telling us to come get her ;)
She's really talkative, especially with Isaac. She has such a sweet tone.
She does this new "excited/grunt" laugh. That's the only way I can describe it. I makes me chuckle every time she does it. She laughs a lot.
Overall, this stage is really cute........

Mirror, mirror, on the wall ~ who's the fairest of them all?

Willow is so close to sitting up on her own. For now, I just use the laundry basket or bobby pillow to assist ;)

Maybe she's saying, "I feel like I may have a tooth coming in."
"Hey, why are you copying me?"
"Why don't you answer back?"

Mom, this is crazy.........

Ava and Isaac both miss Willow when they don't see her for a while. They always give her love when the opportunity arises.

Willow is already really good at holding her bottle. She's a growin' hungry girl!

Our sweet little Lo Lo :)
