St. Patrick's Weekend

St. Patrick's day weekend happened to be the warm before another storm. Temperatures reached 56-58 degrees. It was officially almost Spring! Feeling it brings more smiles :)

We decided to get away for the weekend in Beaver, Utah. Willow is getting really good at swimming!

Bryan, Ava, Isaac, and Charlie went up the mountain the next morning to Eagle Peak for some spring skiing. They had a great time. Their skills are sharp!

Nomi, Willow, and I needed to find something to do for the day so we drove to Meadow Hot Springs. I've always wanted to check this place out. There was a steady influx of people, especially in the hottest spring which was an estimated 100 degrees. Perfect for a relaxing spring soak.

There are actually 3 pools nearby. We swam in 2 out of 3 of them. The cooler ones had fish swimming around. Some decided to exfoliate Nomi's feet haha.
This turned out to be a free spa day :)

We may have also seen one large fish....... a mermaid! A happy one at that!

Swimming for 2 days is exhausting!

Our party reunited back home fully charged with vitamin D and our faces pink with our first sunburns of the season. What a fabulous weekend!

March Comes in like a Lion

March came in with a series of storms. Great for the water table. Not for my mood. Haha
More sunshine and warmer temperatures will have to wait. Looking forward to full reservoirs and a colorful, blooming desert though!

The string of cloudy days and no sun was rough. No heliotherapy makes me want to hide under a blanket until I can get recharged. Luckily, a group of us ladies had tickets for a show and had a "wicked" great time!

Isaac and Bryan went to Ohio the last week of February. Isaac helped his grandpa (and dad) tap trees and make maple syrup. These are the photos they took. They worked really hard and had fun. What a special trip and wonderful memories. Isaac's science fair project will be a demonstration this year.

Ava also worked on her science fair project through the month of February and part of March. It required freezing temperatures. She froze bubbles outside and collected the data using various temperatures.

If you haven't tried this yourself, you should. It's a cool and artsy experiment :)

The Baker School Science Fair approached fast!

When I was about 12 years old I created stacks of comics. "Bug and Worm" were the main characters. Ava grew fond of them and now creates her own comics using the characters. One weekend she surprised me with a stuffed animal that she made/sewed (with the help from our friend Liz Woolsey.) So thoughtful and special. I may have cried lol. Worm and bug were a strong presence through school (even scribbled all over my homework) for years! Ava brought them to life again :)

She really enjoys her time with Liz doing crafty things. This is another stuffed animal she made.

Our fireplace continues to get some use in March. I guess if we are going to be indoors we may as well have on something comfy......

Reminded me of a "1990's twins doublemint gum" commercial. Haha
Silly girls! All their idea!

Spring couldn't come soon enough. Hopefully we have an extended season too ~ like a long symphony. That would be music to my ears :)
