Aerial Ava

Ava is always putting herself into incredible poses. Even when she relaxes to watch a movie she's pretzeled into some sort of interesting shape haha! I happened to be online and saw this sensory equipment called "Yoga Swing Sling." I thought.... perfect for Ava! The first day of installation and she was already acting like a pro.
What a great addition to the exercise program, especially on those cold, windy days! Special thanks to John S. for "hanging" it safely ;)

Winter Wandering

My friend Rosaleen and I scheduled an adventure on a weekend that she was home visiting. We were looking forward to some much needed wandering under the winter sun. We decided to drive to a local petroglyph site. This is the place where Bryan and I got engaged :)
There was still some patches of snow in the shade inside the canyon. The ice crunched under our boots. Up above, the rocks were warm and inviting. Here we were standing in same beautiful place where the Native Americans stood thousands of years ago. Their language and expressions carved in stone....

Great company, smiles, sunshine, and mountain air.
It's a beautiful life.

Bye Bye January

The first month of 2019 is a wrap! The Lady Hawks started up their season. It's nice to have events to look forward to to help break up those cabin fever days.

It snowed mid January. Enough that Isaac got to cross country ski to school for a couple of days!

The Front Porch Pickers played at the annual Sheepherder Party at the Border Inn...

Bryan and Isaac participated in an Ely race called the "Birkebeiner" with some other folks from Snake Valley. They did the route with cross country skis......

Gretchen, the kids and I went to the "Fire and Ice" Festival at Cave Lake. They had their annual ice sculpture contest. We walked around to see people creating their works of art...

The kids built their own snow-gator and Gretchen and I made a fish (not part of the contest ~ just for fun).

We spent some time playing in the snow and on the ice until we got cold.

Emma Baker turned 9 years old! Happy Birthday! How are these kids this old already? Geez. 

The end of the month has been seasonally warm. We've been having rain in Baker instead of snow.
When the sun breaks through the clouds it's an invitation to get outside. Natural light in winter is an immediate charge on my internal battery. As I made my way around the loop trail this rainbow came out to briefly distract me from the pain of jogging. Haha. Grateful for color and sunshine during this season.
