My friend, Rosaleen, lives in town and we eagerly connected for a visit. We had some great plans for the following day, a hike on the mountain......
I've always enjoyed Dr. Hamilton's talks, he's always been a natural public speaker :)
Rosaleen knows about some cool hikes up Cedar Break Canyon. I was excited to take a walk through some woods. Maybe we would see some Fall color? She took us up Crystal Springs trail. It was a beautiful day. Persistent trend of warm temperatures for the month. The clouds would provided a little relief from the sun....
We had a field trip with the school the day before. An early morning and exhausting day made them a little less energetic for this adventure. Maybe some food fuel would help....
The meadows were so pretty and filled with little yellow flowers......
It was nice to lay down and rest in the tall grass.....
The aspen's hadn't quite transformed into autumn attire yet....
For once, I had more energy than the kids! Haha
I was going to need that energy to carry Willow all the way back up the steep trail! Especially when she fell asleep, became dead weight and her head bobbed across my back in an awkward way.

We decided we had enough time in the day to drive over to Navajo Lake. It'd been a while since the last time I was here and I had forgotten how big this body of water is. Beautiful and peaceful.
That evening was Bryan's final bat presentation at Cedar Breaks. The last light of the day was shining on the color country. You can see why they call it that. We also happen to be at "Sunset Point" at sunset!
The landscape looked different as the minutes passed because of the changing light......

There was a lot of people here for this event.....
I didn't remember to bring my "real" camera for the night sky party (#epicfail) yeah, I know.
But it was a great weekend anyway!
