Halloween 2016

Halloween arrived! The night before (the day we got back from our trip) Bryan helped the kids carve their pumpkins. Ava wanted to participate in everything. Isaac stood back and thought it was disgusting that there were "guts" involved and he didn't like the smell too much. He was still happy chatting it up. Willow watched the action too.

We are thoroughly enjoying the extended Fall season. Day and night! 

Happily haunting under a star-filled sky. Another Halloween come and gone.

Fall Break: Black Rock Desert

After departing Soldier Meadow Hot Springs, we headed back toward Gerlach. We took our time, enjoying the landscape along the way.

This is the Black Mountain that the Black Rock Desert is named after. It's also where crowds come in for Burning Man every September...

Part of the plan this trip was to bring the bikes and ride around the the playa. It rained so long the day before that it flooded. I thought it was funny to have brought the bikes all this way and have this happen.Well, can't expect to have smooth sailing every trip. Should have brought a small boat! Haha!
