We had the opportunity in early July to have the cousins stay with us for a week. We had some fun planned. Because of the high temperatures we found ourselves around bodies of water. We made several trips to Pruess Lake to cool off. Craig and Gretchen pulled their super cool sailboat from their garage. It was a lot of fun to see it catch the wind (which is usually a constant element there) and dance across the water with flashes of blue streaks.

I had a painting project planned for the kids. They painted canvases outside with their swimsuits, in which they ran through sprinklers when they got too hot. We tried to stay in the shade of course.
Their eyes got really big when I told them that they should paint each other. Like, is this really allowed? Haha Their brushes dripped with color, they waisted no time stroking the brushes across skin.....

It took a while to wash off; but it was so worth it. I had the kids do patterns on me too.....
4th of July weekend arrived. We spent the evening in EskDale at the festivities. The following night we went to the lake to light off our own fireworks.............
Yep, lots of swimming time.....
Another activity to escape the heat is to find a trail at high elevation that consists of an alpine lake as cold as an ice cube. Such as the Lakes Loop :)

It was great to have Sydnie, Jorja, and Morgyn join in part of our summer adventures. We will gladly have them back next year. I knew before the summer started that it would pass in the blink of an eye.
