February 2023

Another winter month and another snowy week. Large accumulations of snow, especially in the mountains. Which is where these first pictures are from; at Upper Lehman. The kids and I had a fun adventure as the snow was falling and swirling down. It's so pretty.
I continue to take lots of photos of my kids. I'm not sorry about it ;)
Clara was with us too which was fun!

Here is fun little video of our adventure from my Youtube:

Bryan took the kids to Eagle Point to ski again. Mad skills on the slopes!

Next thing we knew, the month was almost half over on February 14th!
Here's my Valentine since 1999  :)

Jupiter comes and relaxes at my office occasionally with me :)
I DO have the most relaxing/Zen office indeed!

The sun came out and it finally felt like a warmish spring day. In reality it was 40 but it felt warm after our weeks of temperatures we've been having. I decided to try my first cold (freezing) water immersion. Bryan is pretty good at this already. I want to be able to go out with him when he does it.

Ava decided to get in with me, so Yeah!
My goal was 30 seconds. I lasted only a few in the first try. Then I immediately got back in for a re-do....

Video (Here)

I will say, as hard as it was... I felt SO alive and invigorated for DAYS post-soak. I'm working up the courage to do it again soon.

The following day, the landscape was almost clear of snow (picture above) and then overnight...
BAM! Basin and Range white again (picture below) !

Snow or shine, I'm still walking the trail almost everyday training for a backpacking trip I'm planning to do with friends in March.

One of my walks in February felt like the luckiest numbers in the cosmos :)

We were all shook when Ben got pneumonia and sepsis. Then, terrified when he ended up on a ventilator. It was all scary. Bryan and Willow had a trip planned around the same time. We were relieved at the news that he got off the ventilators before they got on the plane but very concerned.  Ben's recovery has been a challenge but he's gaining ground slowly. Healing means time. We love him SO much and I'm glad Bryan (and Willow) were able to be there. Ben is taking it day by day.

Willow got to help Bryan tap the trees, help make maple syrup, and play with the family.

From tree, to tongue, to table......

Deb documented the process and took all these great photos:
